AdTec Footwear was founded in 1982 with a straightforward goal: make dependable boots for people who rely on them every day. The name AdTec comes from Advanced Technology Footwear, reflecting the company’s focus on practical performance and continuous improvement.
Founders Arnold Duan and Dick Montville brought together experience in manufacturing, sourcing, retail, and customer needs. After seeing that many boots were either too expensive, uncomfortable, or unable to hold up to demanding use, they set out to create footwear that balanced durability, comfort, and value.
From the beginning, feedback from farmers, ranchers, tradespeople, and other everyday boot wearers helped shape the company’s products. That practical approach has remained central to AdTec as it has expanded its footwear for worksites, warehouses, farms, fields, outdoor use, and everyday environments.
Today, AdTec remains family owned, with the next generation continuing the business. Its philosophy remains simple: build reliable boots, keep pricing fair, listen to the people wearing them, and keep improving along the way.
