Invented in 2017, Bug Ball was created as an alternative to traditional biting fly control methods that rely on pesticides, DEET, or electricity. The system works by taking advantage of a natural behavior: biting flies are attracted to moving dark objects.

Each Bug Ball is made from durable, weather-resistant PVC and designed to be suspended outdoors where flies are active. Once coated with Bug Ball’s Catch Em’ sticky adhesive, the moving black surface attracts biting flies and traps them on contact. The system requires no electricity and is designed for use around areas such as barns, stables, orchards, gardens, pools, cabins, and yards.

Bug Ball has continued to expand beyond its original black fly trap with additional products for gnats, apple maggots, and other troublesome insects. Across the collection, the goal remains straightforward: provide an easy-to-use outdoor pest-control solution built around simple design, reusable components, and pesticide-free operation.
