Cressi’s story began in the 1930s, when brothers Egidio and Nanni Cressi started handcrafting masks and spearfishing equipment for their own underwater adventures along the Italian coast. What began as a passion soon grew into something much larger, and in 1946 Cressi was officially founded in Genoa, Italy.
From the beginning, innovation has been at the heart of the brand. Cressi helped introduce groundbreaking products such as the Sirena mask, the Pinocchio equalization mask, the Rondine floating fin, and early buoyancy-control designs that helped influence modern diving equipment. Over the decades, the company expanded its expertise across scuba diving, freediving, spearfishing, snorkeling, swimming, and other water sports.
Today, Cressi remains entirely family-owned and continues to carry forward the vision of its founders. With a strong emphasis on in-house design, product testing, research, and development, Cressi creates equipment for people who share the same passion that started it all—a love for exploring and experiencing the water.
